When I was a teenager, I often watched my father dye his hair.
By then, he was already partially bald, and the color would smudge onto his ears and even onto the bare patches of his scalp.
I remember wondering: why doesn’t he just embrace aging? He was wise, respected, and carried authority. Why hide the gray?
Last weekend, as I observed few gray hairs and thought of dyeing, I understood. What once seemed unnecessary suddenly made sense.
The wish to present our best selves often leads us to choices we couldn’t relate to in our younger days.
Life truly comes full circle. 🌱
And it reminded me: What looks trivial from the outside often carries unseen meaning.
This is as true in teams and business as it is in life. A decision, a behavior, or even a hesitation that seems small from a distance may hold weight we cannot see.
Empathy doesn’t come only from listening — it often comes from living those experiences ourselves.
As leaders, colleagues, or teammates, we must remember: before we judge others’ choices, we may one day walk the same path.
What we don’t understand today may become our own reality tomorrow.
The Gray Areas We All Walk Through – Understanding often comes only when we walk the same path.
